This smallish book still has LXXVI plates in B&W to give you a lot of examples. Though written for the old-time collector, whose inexpensive pieces would be beyond the dreams of most of us nearly a hundred years later.
Unlike many that concentrate on English oak, this goes into the different schools of English, French, Dutch, and Tyrolean. The chapter on "Secret Receptacles and Treasure Chests" is really unusual!
Its examples begin with one of the oldest I have seen reproduced, a cabinet of the reign of Henry VII.
